What Is Acura Precision Certified? Your Pre-Owned Coverage Guide

Acura Precision Certified is the designation Acura places on qualifying pre-owned vehicles that meet a defined set of inspection and warranty standards. At McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago, that designation answers the question you likely have about a pre-owned vehicle's condition and history. Here is what the designation covers and what it means for you.

A 182-Point Inspection Before Certification

Every vehicle considered for Acura Precision Certified status goes through a 182-point inspection performed by a certified technician, covering mechanical systems, electrical components, and cosmetic condition. Only vehicles six years old or newer with 80,000 miles or fewer at the time of delivery qualify for certification, which keeps the eligible pool limited to newer, lower-mileage vehicles. That combination of age, mileage, and inspection standards separates Acura Precision Certified from a standard pre-owned purchase.

Warranty Coverage That Extends Beyond the Original Terms

A seven-year or 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty comes standard on every Acura Precision Certified vehicle, backed by a two-year or 100,000-mile non-powertrain limited warranty, both measured from the original in-service date. That coverage protects components such as the engine, transmission, and major electrical systems well past a typical pre-owned purchase. Reviewing exactly what each warranty period covers helps you understand what is protected before you drive away.

Added Benefits Built into the Program

Beyond the inspection and warranty, the Acura CPO program adds two years or 100,000 miles of roadside assistance covering towing, lockouts, and jump-starts, a complimentary first scheduled maintenance visit, and a three-month SiriusXM trial subscription. You also receive trip interruption reimbursement and a seven-day, 300-mile exchange window if the vehicle is not the right fit. Together, these benefits give you support that extends well past the day you sign the paperwork.
